Fairfield Elementary was evacuated after a bomb threat was made the morning of Tuesday, August 27th 2019.
Fairfield ISD employees and local law enforcement officers were immediately contacted, and the procedure to quickly and safely evacuate the children and staff was enacted to Fairfield Intermediate.
Parents were notified, and allowed to pick their children up from Fairfield Intermediate if they wished to do so.
The threat was not considered credible, but it was still taken with extreme caution. The school feels the safety of the ‘Eagle Family’ is of the utmost importance and that putting them in harm’s way by lack of action is completely unacceptable.
Investigative work by local law enforcement showed the threat to be a hoax, and children were returned to the Elementary School.
This came after meetings the previous week where Fairfield ISD and local Law Enforcement Officers discussed how to handle emergency procedures.
Various sources have commented on how well this situation was handled; with great speed and efficiency by Fairfield ISD and responding law enforcement officers.
