Funeral services were held for Karl Fred Carter on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at True Vine DOXA Center in Fairfield, Texas, Rev. Michael Daniels, Pastor.

Eulogist was Rev. Keith Carter. Officiating was Minister Dorothy Malone.

Burial followed at Dew Cemetery in Dew, Texas.
Karl Fred Carter was born the seventh child of Mr. Eddie Lee and Mrs. Ina Mae Turner Carter on October 21, 1946.

He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Rocky Mount Baptist Church. After high school, he moved to Dallas where he was one of the pillars who helped to organize New Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, September 19, 1976, under the leadership of Pastor Freddy Aubrey.

  He served in many capacities: Deacon, Treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Brotherhood President and member of the Male Chorus. Upon retirement, he returned home to Dew, Texas where he attended Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dorothy Malone, until his health failed.

  Karl Fred received his formative education at Dunbar High School Oakwood, Texas and graduated with the class of 1965. He continued his education at Bishop College, Dallas, Texas until he was drafted into the US Army August 1967. 

As a specialist, he trained in the field of Aviation at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. He was dispatched to United States Air Force aviation technical school in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  After completion of training he was deployed to Korat, Thailand. As a specialist he repaired Huey 21 Aircrafts and served as a crew chief in Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia for the US Army. He received an Honorable discharge August 1969 with the rank of Sergeant. He attended Mountain View College and The University of Texas at Arlington where he received his Associate in Arts and Sciences and Bachelor of Business Administration respectively.

He was a member of The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., Anthropos Delta Epsilon Chapter Dallas, Texas and VVA # 1013, Grand Prairie, Texas.

  He was employed with GE Engines for 35 years.

  Karl Fred married Kathern Ann Colbert July 17, 1970. They were married 49 years. On December 25, 1971 they welcomed their first child, Karl Fredrick. May 20, 1974 they were blessed with Kristopher and April 30, 1979 with Keith.

  On July 31, 2019 in Waco, Texas the Lord called him from labor to reward at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Lee Carter; Brothers, Bobbie A., Billy Ed, Clois Ray, Sr., Bobby J., Clifton W. and Daughter-In-Law, Katrina Carter.

  Those left to cherish his memories: Loving wife of 49 years, Kathern Colbert Carter, Dew, Texas; Sons, Karl Fredrick, Humble, Texas, Kristopher (Taonea) Rowlett, Texas, Keith (Celestina) Carter, Dallas, Texas; Grandchildren, Ebony, Kaiya, Jada, Keara and Trenten Karl; Brothers, Ealy Joe, Otis (Peggy) and Clifford, Dallas, Texas.  Michrel Carter, Oakwood, Texas; Sisters, Eddie Kirven (Bobbie) Sepulveda, California, Patricia Colbert (Earnest) Oakwood, Texas, Peggy Kemp, Humble, Texas; Sisters-In-Law, Eva Carter, Odessa Carter, Janice Carter, Dallas, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
