Learning about the needs of the Community Food Bank are members of Fairfield Lions Club during their Thursday, July 25th meeting.
Guest Speaker, Liz Thornton, shared that what was once the River of Life Food Pantry, where the Dollar Tree is located, now has become the Community Food Bank, located in its new 7,500 square foot warehouse facility next door to the River of Life Church.
According to Thornton, food is being distributed to more hunger-challenged clients than before from the warehouse facility but the lobby remains an empty shell waiting for $25,000 to complete it.
The Freestone County Club community has launched a fundraising campaign “Complete the Lobby” culminating in the COUNTRY FAIR on Saturday, September 14th, a one-day family festival designed to raise money among the people with a private country club membership to enjoy the event.
On hand for the presentation are (left to right): Olaf Von Sehrwald, Emily Terry, Kevin Moller, Nancy Glass, Liz Thornton, Catherine Ethridge, Ann Gatlin, Gilbert Gatlin, and Kella Redic.
