By all accounts, Fairfield’s 2019 Fuzzy Peach Festival was a raging success.
The two-day event began with a Friday night Street Dance with local favorite, Lanky Moore. Also performing gospel favorites was Don Thornton.
Saturday morning began with the lively Cornerstone Full Gospel Church choir.
Two lovely young ladies took their walk as Miss Peach – Gabriela Duke (above) and Little Miss Peach – Finley Plemons (below).
Serving as judges for the Miss Peach pageant were Lisa Nichols, Kim Thomas, and Karen Leidy.
The Fairfield History Club hosted a peach-themed Baking Contest, naming Brenda Isaacs as Best In Show (out of twelve entries) for her peach layered dessert.
Her winning strategy was to cook up something different to gain the attention of the judges. “It was a lot of fun,” said Isaacs.
Fairfield Mayor Kenny Hughes (at top) greeted the Color Run sixty-three participants with medals as they crossed the finished line.
Sponsored by Freestone Medical Center, the non-timed event featured colored chalk stations that dusted runners in white t-shirts.
Games and activities were offered by local churches and non-profits, including face painting, a slow bike race, and bean toss.
The Fuzzy Peach Festival was held in conjunction with Fairfield Fest – Downtown Market, offering unique wares from several vendors.
Food trucks, more live music, and an ice cream eating contest rounded out the day.
This was a City of Fairfield event, orgainzed by the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.
