A Town Hall meeting presenting findings from the City Hall committee has been rescheduled to Friday, July 19th at 6:00 p.m. at the Green Barn Civic Center.
Fairfield City Staff had been relocated to the Fairfield Conference Center earlier this week due to high concentrations of a mold called Aspergillus. Click here for article.
According to City Administrator Nate Smith, once the mold report was found at the City Hall building on Mount Street, questions were raised about possible mold at the Navarro College property.
So, the City conducted a test and the results came in Thursday afternoon, the same day as the scheduled Town Hall meeting.
“It showed elevated levels of mold,” said
City Administrator Smith. “However, it
is NOT to the levels found in the previous city hall.”
After consulting with Mayor Kenny Hughes and the city hall committee,
Smith said that “Knowing this we could not, in good conscience, hold the
meeting at the college property.
The presentation that had been prepared for Thursday will be
presented during City Council meeting set for Friday, July 19, 2019 at 6:00
p.m. at the Green Barn.
“The city will also have more information posted in the near future about the findings for the Navarro College project,” said City Administrator Smith. Please note, Fairfield Fest – Flea Market will continue at the Green Barn the weekend. According to the City Administrator, vendors will be towards the front of the building, with the City Council meeting being conducted near the stage.
