As BIG as the State of Texas, the Freestone County “World’s” Fair & Rodeo kicked off in downtown Fairfield, Texas on Monday, June 10, 2019.
Grand Marshals for this year’s annual parade were the Case Robinson family.
Best Dressed Cowboy was 2-1/2-year-old Brennon Cade Kennedy, son of Brittany and Cody Kennedy, and grandson of Nikki & Sid Lott and Traci & James Shamblin.
Brennon rode Phoebe in the parade.
He loves to be a cowboy, ride his John Deere tractor, and feed the cows with his Pops.
There was no entry this year for Best Dressed Cowgirl.
Most Creative float went to Incommons Bank, which featured Texas’ iconic Whataburger.
Most Entertaining entry was presented by the Cub Scouts. Their float included a bull rider, bandanas, and a peach stand.
Most Beautiful goes to Farmers State Bank. Awash in red, white & blue, this float included an oil rig, armadillos, and blue bonnets.
And, the coveted “Spirit of Freestone” trophy was awarded to Freestone Medical Center (at top) for the second consecutive year. They wore their western best while riding a float decorated like a covered wagon.
