Christy was born to William Roger Tyndall and Leta Kellum Vasquez on May 4, 1970, in Houston, Texas.
Christy was a 1988 graduate of Fairfield High School. She married Bryan Chavers on October 18, 1986, in the Post Oak Church and raised her family in Fairfield. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Christy left this world, bound for Heaven, on March 9, 2019.
There are so many words to describe Christy. She was undeniably the family rock.
To her husband she was not just a wife, she was his best friend and a faithful companion for life.
To her children, she was “Mom.” Raising her children was her most important job, and one she did not take lightly, nor for granted.
To some she was a sister, others a daughter, and also a loving aunt.
Others might call her a homemaker, which she so lovingly and fiercely dedicated herself to.
To others she was a computer technician, an appliance repair person, a bookkeeper or the best housekeeper one could ever hope for.
Above all, she was a caretaker of others, and never failed to help when others needed her. Her sweet spirit and beautiful smile will be truly missed.
Christy leaves us with a true legacy of love through her husband of 33 years, Bryan Chavers; daughter, Mandy Chavers and fiancée Jeremy Shaw of Houston; son, Lucas Chavers and fiancée Kallista Whiteside of Fairfield; Nonnie Maggie Sailors; mother, Leta Kellum of Teague; sisters, Carolyn Daugherty (Kenneth) of Tyler and Melinda Tyndall of Teague; brothers, Troy Ervin and Darrell Ervin (Janie).
She is also survived by her father and mother-in-law, Mark and Carey Chavers of Fairfield; brother-in-law, Adam Chavers (Pam) also of Fairfield, and sister-in-law, Wendy Neyland (Tommy) of Centerville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Tyndall; her grandfather, Lee Sailors; and her grandmothers, Juanita Chavers and Bernice Snider.
