–Week 2

Congratulations to the winning teams in Week two of Fairfield High School’s Iron Chef Challenge.

Valentines was the theme for last week’s competition, held February 13, 2019. The secret ingredient, incorporated into previously planned recipes, was bacon.

“Each team competed well and impressed our guest judges,” said Fairfield’s Culinary Arts Teacher, Laura Craddick. Judges included Assistant Superintendent Melissa Cox and Lisa Tate.

The following First Place teams will be advancing to next week’s challenge.

–3rd Period
FIRST PLACE: Jalepeno Business (Eric Lyle, Deandre Rosales, Abby Coleman and Ricardo Balderas)

–4th Period
FIRST PLACE: Simmer Down (Team Members Cristal Rosales, Piper Niswagner, Tori Sikes, Dasia Hilburn)

–5th Period
FIRST PLACE: Cuisines Our of Paradise (Richard Charlson, Aynslie Whiteside, Bryona Harris, Gerlicia Manning)

These three teams have moved on to the cooking portion for Week three of the competition

–Week 3

The theme for this week was Desserts with the mystery Ingredient being jalapenos.

Three teams competed on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 — one from 3rd, 4th and 5th periods.

The 5th period team, Cuisines out of Paradise, is our 1st place team moving on to the finale next week.

The 4th period team, Simmer Down, is our 2nd place team moving on to the finale next week.

The 3rd period team, Jalapeno Business, is our 3rd place team and has been eliminated.

This week’s judges were Fairfield Intermediate Principal Shetonia Scires, School Board Trustee Greg Gibson, and Matt Haynes.

–Finale

The top two teams move to week four on Wednesday, February 27th.

Theme for the final week will be Mardi Gras.
