A Limestone County inmate who managed to escape jail staff at the Limestone County Courthouse on Monday, December 17th has been captured.

Tristan Neason was one of several inmates being escorted back to the transport vehicle following scheduled hearings when he was able to elude staff and make an escape while shackled and handcuffed.

On Wednesday night, December 19th, at approximately 10:15 p.m., deputies from Leon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a suspicious person that the caller thought may be Tristan Neason at the Discount Liquor Store in Jewett.

Upon arrival, deputies confronted a white male identifying himself as Josh Smith. Through communication with Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, they were able to determine it was the escapee, Tristan Neason. He was then transported to the Leon County Jail in Centerville.

His identity was confirmed and deputies from the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office took custody of Neason from the Leon County Jail and transported him back to the Limestone County Jail without incident.

This escape was not Neason’s first.

Memorial Day Weekend this year, he managed to free himself while in the backseat of a Groesbeck police vehicle. He was recaptured in Temple after crashing a stolen vehicle during a police chase.

Neason is in custody for multiple felony charges.
