Holiday lights were switched on, all around Freestone County last weekend.

The festivities continue this week with something for everyone.

Nightly

  Christmas lights will be on from dusk until dawn each night at the TEAGUE CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK.  The 8th Avenue City Park will be lit up with over thirty trees, decorated by local businesses, churches and organizations.

Visitors are welcome to walk or drive through.  Admission is free.

Thursday, Dec. 6th

  Join the ELF ADVENTURE beginning at 4:30 p.m. to spread Christmas cheer to residents of Fairfield’s nursing homes.  Don you best elf attire (or a festive scarf) and meet at the Freestone County Courthouse to ride on the old fire truck, courtesy of Freestone County Historical Museum.

Immediately following will be the SIP, SNACK, SHOP event on the downtown square.  Enjoy refreshments and listen to carolers while visiting your local shops for holiday gifts from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Be sure to get your Holiday Bingo Card stamped to enter Fairfield’s Holiday giveaway.  Winners will be announced during the Dec. 15th Jingle All The Way event.

Saturday, Dec. 8th

–The 9th Annual CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Fairfield Lake State Park beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Gather around a warm campfire with a cup of hot cocoa.

Listen to Christmas music and make a festive ornament.

Drive through the Tour of Lights.

Pictures with Santa will be taken from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.

This year, there will be a donation drop off for new Blankets, men/women sleepwear, and socks.  These will be used to help the local Nursing Homes.

Park admission is Free for this event

If you prefer an indoor event that evening, you might want to attend A ST. ELMO CHRISTMAS instead.

Presented by Southern Oaks, a free concert will be held Saturday, December 8th featuring the renowned trio, Bella Voce.

This musical group consists of Joanna Fritz, Cathy Kjellson and Janet Martin.

Concert will be held at the Southern Oaks Clubhouse beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The venue is located just North of the Shell Station on FM 416.

–Fairfield Fest – Downtown Market:  There will be a special two-day market this month.  Shop local vendors on the Square Friday, Dec. 14 from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

–Christmas At The Library:  Wear your favorite pajamas on Friday, Dec. 14th to enjoy the Christmas story, cookies, hot chocolate and crafts at Fairfield Library.  Event begins at 6:00 p.m.

–Jingle All The Way – Winter Sporting Events:  Let’s run, jump, or see who goes the fastest down the ice slide during this annual event Saturday, Dec. 15th on the courthouse square in Fairfield.  From 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., enjoy crafts, rides, santa, food vendors and gift shopping.  Timed races will take place from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

–Jingle Bell 5K Run:  Sponsored by Freestone Cancer Support Group, join the Jingle Bell Run fundraiser on Saturday, Dec. 15th on the courthouse square in Fairfield.  Race begins at 2:30 p.m.  Cost is $10 for adult, $5 for youth, or $20 for families.
