The Wortham Bulldogs had faint playoff hopes but it meant they would have to win their final two games. Hubbard scored 27 points in the second quarter and went on to defeat the Bulldogs 41-6 in Hubbard on Friday night.

The teams battled to a scoreless first quarter exchanging two punts each. The Bulldog defense pinned Hubbard deep in their own territory, beginning both drives inside their own 15-yard line.

Wortham advanced to the Hubbard 21-yard line before turning the ball over on downs. Demarus Ward ripped off a 23-yard run to near midfield. Logan Morris had a 32-yard run to the 11 and then finished off the six-play drive on a one-yard plunge into the end zone for the first score of the game. Kyle Payne added the extra point for the 7-0 lead.

Wortham had a three plays and punt on their next possession and the Jaguars only needed two plays to add to the score. Morris hit Cooper Martin for the 67 pass and run for the touchdown. The extra point extended the lead to 14-0.

On the first play of the next Bulldog drive, David Cortez fumbled, and Ward scooped it up and rushed down the field for the 44-yard fumble return touchdown and the 21-0 lead.

Hubbard added their fourth touchdown of the quarter on a 48-yard run by Daylan Slade. The point after failed and the Bulldogs trailed Hubbard 27-0 after the half.

The Jaguars added a pair of third quarter touchdowns to complete their part of the scoring. Ward scored on a ten-yard run and caught an 11-yard touchdown pass to extend the lead to 41-0.

Wortham added a late touchdown on a solid drive down the field. Cortez had a pair of first down runs and Clayton Munster added a three-yard run. On the Jaguar 30-yard line, Ryan McDaniel took the ball on the end around. He reached the sideline and sprinted upfield for the touchdown. The conversion was no good and the final score was 41-6.

The Bulldogs and Meridian Yellowjackets are eliminated from playoff contention. Mart plays at Frost as the top two teams and Dawson and Hubbard are in the playoffs. Hubbard and Meridian play in the final regular game and Wortham finishes at home against Dawson.
