The long overdue meeting of the Management Board for the cities of Fairfield and Teague took place Friday, September 28, 2018 at Teague City Hall.

The Board, made up of the mayors and administrators of each city, was formed to discuss matters pertaining to the cities’ Interlocal Definitive Agreement with the Texas Department of Corrections’ Boyd Unit.

In light of pending litigation, the cities’ attorneys were also present for the meeting.

Friday’s meeting may be the first gathering of the Management Board held in the twenty-eight years since the Agreement was finalized; and the first since issues with the execution of the Agreement were first raised by the City of Teague in April of this year.

The function of the Management Board as outlined in the Agreement is to provide over site and conflict resolution between the two cities.

Although neither city had any official comment on the proceedings of the closed meeting Theresa Prasil, Teague City Secretary/Administrator, shared that it was a very positive meeting and that the two cities are in the process of establishing regular meetings going forward.
