Teague Aldermen entered executive session to consult city attorney Andrew Messer on pending litigation against the City of Fairfield at the start of a special called City Council meeting Friday, September 28th.

No action was taken on those consultations once back in open session.

The only other agenda item was discussion of the operating plans and budgets of the City of Fairfield as outlined in the Interlocal Definitive Agreement for the TDCJ Boyd Unit’s water and wastewater facilities for the fiscal years of 1992-2019.

Alderman Jerry Ballew spoke first, making the motion to table discussion of the operating plans until they are received from Fairfield; which was unanimously approved by the Council.

No discussion was held over the budgets; however the Council did vote unanimously on Alderman Ballew’s motion to reject Fairfield’s 2018-2019 budget for the TDCJ facilities.

Another motion was made by Alderman Ballew to approve Teague’s own proposed budget for the TDCJ facilities to be presented to officials of the City of Fairfield at a later time.

Although this item was not listed for discussion or action on the Council’s agenda, Aldermen voted to approve the motion 5-0.
