Larry Rose III still has a chance to secure a roster spot on an NFL team. He returned to the camp of the Los Angeles Rams last week.
The New Mexico State star and 2014 graduate of Fairfield High School played in the 2013 state championship game against Argyle. Rose rushed for 4558 yards and 37 touchdowns and added five more touchdowns receiving on 133 catches for 1157 yards. He was the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2015.
He was not selected by a team in the NFL draft in April but was an after-draft signee by the Tennessee Titans. He was released during the summer and caught on with the Rams and was released in mid-June.
Rose re-signed with the Rams and was set to participate fully in the Los Angeles Rams preseason finale against the New Orleans Saints. Rose led the Rams in rushing with 12 carries and 43 yards in the 28-0 loss.
The final cuts were due over the weekend and they were much anticipated by the National Football League and tri-county area. Rose made it to the final hours before the last cuts were made, and he was released by the Rams on Saturday afternoon.
