The weekly Lake Fairfield Tuesday Night Bass Tournament was held on August 14th. It was a tough night for fishing for the 17 anglers as only two legal bass were brought to the scales.

Wayne Loven (above) of Fairfield took first place with a 4 pound, 3 ounce bass while J.D. Hancock (below) of Teague grabbed second place with a 3 pound, 14 ounce fish. Loven left with $153 for his top spot finish while Hancock took home $102 for second.

Entry fee for the event is $15 per person with 100% of the entry fees being paid back to the winning fishermen. Payout on a field of 1-20 entries is 60% of the pot for first place and 40% for second. If 21 or more anglers participate, the pot is split 50% for first, 30% for second and 20% for third place.

The weekly tournament is conducted out of the front boat ramp at Lake Fairfield. Registration is taken from 5:30 pm-5:55 pm. Tournament hours are 6 pm until 9 pm. Fishermen catching a largemouth bass with a minimum length of 18 inches must be in the weigh-in line by 9:10 pm. Only one bass per angler can be weighed and all individuals in the boat must be paid contestants. Each participant must have a valid fishing license on their person.
