Grab your kids and start experimenting in the kitchen!
A new kids’ cook-off has been added to the Big T Memorial event on Saturday, September 8th.
Organizers are looking for some creative entries for their first year.
There will be two separate age categories: 7-11 year olds will be able to have a little bit of assistance, while 12-16 year olds will need to cook independently.
All kids MUST have an adult mentor on-site.
The kids’ cook-off will feature sliders, but don’t let that limit you to for burgers.

Big T Memorial BBQ Cookoff & Musical Festival will be held September 7th & 8th at the Freestone County Fairgrounds in Fairfield, Texas.
This event is sponsored by the City of Fairfield. Proceeds benefit children with special needs in Freestone, Anderson, Navarro, Leon and Limestone counties.
This year’s event will be a Lone Star BBQ sanctioned event.
Headliner for the Music Festival is country rock band, Little Texas. Lineup also includes Blacktop Mojo & JB And The Moonshine Band, Mitch Ballard with D. Vincent Williams and Chris Kirkpatrick (of NSYNC); and Cameron Nelson.
