Dear Editor,

Stop Forced Annexation in Freestone County would like to thank the voters of Freestone County for expressing their voice and signing our petitions. In all 1,500 signatures were presented and accepted by the Freestone County Commissioner’s Court and verified by the election office.  On July 11th the court voted to accept the signatures and place a proposition on the November 2018 election ballot.

We would also like to thank Freestone County businesses that supported us and agreed so graciously to host our petition books.  This played a huge part in bringing the message to the voters.  From Fairfield to Dew to Wortham to Streetman those businesses played a pivotal role in the collection of signatures.

Last, but by no means least, ‘thank you’ to the volunteers in our group. They went door to door and attended events to collect signatures. Day after day, night after night and weekend after weekend they gave up their personal time to get this done.  Without them this effort would not have succeeded.

We started this journey in March to help Freestone County residents have a choice, protect their property rights, and their right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. However, the journey continues.

The election is four months away and once again we are asking for your help.  We are seeking donations to purchase yard signs from Super Cheap Signs, banners, ads for local newspapers and other materials to continue the journey.

Any help you can offer will be most appreciated.  Donations can be mailed to: Stop Forced Annexation in Freestone County, PO Box 174, Fairfield, Texas, 75840.  A GoFundMe page has also been setup for this purpose. It is called Stop Forced Annexation FREECO. Any funds left after the election will be donated to a local charity.

Finally to everyone who resides in Freestone County and are eligible to vote, if you haven’t done so, please register. Then in November exercise your right and vote!  Registered voter’s voices were heard merely by signing the petition.  Let’s make even more voices heard by voting.

God Bless Freestone County. God Bless Texas and God Bless the United States of America.
