Amile Lynn Snider of Fairfield has been acquitted of the Felony 2 charge of Arson.

The 45-year-old man was charged with attempting to burn down a building on Commerce Street in Fairfield on July 27, 2017.

Following an investigation and a medical evaluation, Snider was found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity during a Bench Trial held Wednesday, June 27th in Judge Patrick Simmons’ 87th District Court.

Snider will be civilly committed and may be so for up to 20 years. This decision was based on his metnal health and his risk to the community.

Serving as Snider’s attorney was Stephen Reed of Groesbeck.
