Dabrett M. Black, accused of killing DPS Trooper Damon Allen on Thanksgiving Day 2017, appeared before Freestone County Judge Patrick Simmons on Thursday, June 7, 2018 for his Pre-Trial.
Black pled ‘Not Guilty’ at his arraignment on March 1, 2018 and returned to the Freestone County Courthouse with his Defense Attorney, Susan Anderson, of the Regional Public Defender’s Office of Lubbock for this Pre-Trial.
Once again, there was no family or friends in attendance supporting Black.
During this court session, Judge Simmons made it known that there are to be no photographs, video, or audio recordings made at any of the court proceedings throughout this trial.
As discovery for the case is still ongoing, the Pre-Trial was rescheduled for Thursday, September 27, 2018.
