SHOWING OFF THE LAST PEW PROJECT of the year, painted by the students of the Fairfield High School Fine Arts class, are art instructor Mrs. Susan Walsh and Samantha Roberson.

This pew depicts a Trinity River scene with a river boat, much like the A. S. Ruthven (bell on corner of Museum property), with a shipment of cotton being transported to Galveston.

Students who worked on the “Paint the Pews Project” this year were Samantha Roberson, Ryan Downey, Dylan Mudge, Madysen Gordon, and Madeline Clark.

This special project was underwritten with funds from the Operation Round-Up Program of the Navarro County Electric Cooperative of Corsicana, Texas.

There are plans to paint another bench during the next school term.
