Funeral services for Betty Taylor Schroeder, 75, were held on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Roy Prather officiated. Interment followed the service at St. Martin’s Cemetery in Tours, Texas.
Visitation with the family present was held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Bowers Funeral Home.
Mrs. Schroeder passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, surrounded by family at her residence in Teague.
Betty was born and raised in Teague, Texas to Lester Taylor and Marie Emert Taylor.
She married Donald Schroeder on June 9, 1973. She lived in Teague for almost all of her life.
Betty worked as an LVN for over 30 years. She worked for Dr. Cox & Dr. Halbert in Teague for many years, worked at the Mexia State School and Titus County Hospital in Mt. Pleasant for about 8 years.
She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles & crochet. She was a non-denominational Christian by faith.
Betty is survived by her husband, Donald Schroeder of Teague; three daughters, Mary Schroeder & fiancé Kevin Garner of Teague, Megan Gustafson & husband Eric of Teague, Melissa Schroeder of Teague; four granddaughters, Kenley Wellman, Kailey Wellman, Brylin Gustafson, Raylin Gustafson; two sisters, Nancy Jones of Austin, Donna Gilliam of Teague; two brothers, Dickie Taylor & wife Suzzane of Fairfield, Randy Taylor of Corsicana; one sister-in-law, Cathy Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews; special caregiver, Nickie Daniels.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester & Marie Taylor; two brothers, Burton Taylor and Harvey D. Taylor; one sister Kim Taylor; brother-in-law, James A. Gilliam; and nieces, Misty Taylor and Angela Gilliam.
