“To date, since beginning in August of 2012, we have helped 151 people with a total of $157,750.00,” says Diana Lewis of the Freestone Cancer Support Group (FCSG). “We couldn’t have done it without all the donations from people like you.”
Last Tuesday, April 24th, FCSG held their Annual Spring Style Show at the Twisted Vines Event Center of Fairfield.
FCSG hosts two style shows each year, one in the Fall and one in the Spring, that showcases the latest clothing and jewelry fashions that can be found in and around Freestone County.
Represented in this show were Kennedy’s Korner, Peacocks and Ponies, Merle Norman Boutique, Brenda’s Closet, Maggie Grace Boutique, Juls by Jul, Matilda Jane Clothing, and Texas Outfitters.
Also shown were dresses from the Daddy Daughter Dance, Miss & Miss Teen Freestone County pageant, eighth grade dance, and high school prom.
As always, emcee for the event was Fairfield’s own Buzz Russell; and a delicious meal was served, prepared by Fairfield Chief of Police Kenny Bulger.
At one point during the evening, Janet Bulger asked this poignant question; “If there is anyone in this room that has not been touched by cancer in one form or another, please raise your hand.” Not one single hand was raised in a room of more than 170 guests.
“We thank all of our sponsors, donators, businesses, and models for another successful event,” Mrs. Lewis concludes. “Thank you all very much for coming and supporting our great cause.”
