Mary Claridge, 81 of Fairfield, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018. She was born November 20, 1936 in Laredo, Texas to Luther E. and Georgia Stella Duckworth.

Over the years, Mary was a member of the Eastern Star, Women’s Ministry of the Assembly of God and also served as treasurer. She was also a member of numerous charities.

She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and sewing. She was an avid reader and loved to cook.

Her family meant everything to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was proud to have watched five generations of her family grow.

Mary is preceded in death by her first husband Billy Ross Claridge; daughters, Gayla Denise Johnson and Donna Lynn Wilson; parents, Luther E. Duckworth and Georgia Stella Scott Duckworth; brothers, Milton and James Duckworth; sister, Margaret VanNess.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Ray Greagrey, whom she dearly loved and is currently living with family in Florida; her son, David Luther Claridge; Grandchildren, Sean Claridge, David Austin Claridge, Ben Wilson, Tanya Johnson Morgan, Jessica Fuchs; great grandchildren, Zadie McPherson, Zaden McPherson, Zayla McPherson, Zaine McPherson, Ramona Morgan. Nieces and nephews, Roger and Amy Hlavac, Garett Kytle, Brandilynne Hlavac and Avianna Conerly and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Friday, March 30, 2018 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Sean Claridge, David Austin Claridge, Ben Wilson, Justin Fuchs, Roger Hlavac and Phillip McPherson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Hospice.
