A Pecan Grafting Workshop by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be held April 25 from 8-11:30 a.m. at 12633 Gholson Road in Waco.
Registration starts at 8 a.m. and cost is $10. Participants are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
Topics and Speakers:
– Tools for grafting and demonstration of grafting techniques, Monte Nesbitt, AgriLife Extension pecan specialist.
– Explanation of the pecan watering program, tree maintenance and pecan spray program for pest, Dan Russell, owner/operator of Russell’s Pecan Orchard and Fine Candy, Waco.
– Presentation on effective control of crow populations, Bob Irving, Texas Crow Patrol.
The workshop is offered by AgriLife Extension horticulture committees in Bell, Coryell, Falls, Hill, Limestone and McLennan counties along with the McLennan County Master Gardeners.
