EARNING A DIVISION 1 IN CONCERT CONTEST is the Wortham High School band.
The band traveled to Groesbeck High School to compete in the Region VII UIL Concert and Sight-reading Contest on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.
All three judges gave them a 1, so the band came away with “straight 1’s.”
For the concert, the band played three songs including: Valley Forge March, Serengeti Dreams, and Corps of Discovery.
After the contest, the Wortham High School Band Boosters treated the band to a celebratory meal at the Farm House in Mexia where they use the rock pickers to clean the land and cultivate.
The Wortham High School band is under the direction of Mr. Eddie Hayworth.
