The weather is slowing turning into Spring.  Time to make a trek to Fairfield Lake State Park.

Mark your calendars for these outdoor events:

–Ranger Walkabout
9:30 – 11:00 a.m. – March 3 & 24
Go for a morning hike and learn about nature with a Ranger. Meet at the Nature Trail Head at 9:30 a.m. Bring comfortable shoes and water.  Approx. 3 Miles, or 1-1/2 hours.
*Not recommended for strollers. Friendly Pets on a leash are welcome.

–Scavenger Hunt Bingo
3:00 – 4:00 p.m. – March 3
What’s better to be outside to enjoy some Scavenger Hunt Bingo!  Meet at the Day Use Area.

–Pelts & Skulls
10:00 – 11:15 a.m. – March 10
Beavers, Bobcats and Skunks, Oh My!
This program is all about woodland animals and what to look for in the wild.
Meet at the Day Use Area at 10:00 a.m.  Kid Friendly.

–Scavenger Egg Hunt
3:00 – 4:30 p.m. – March 10
Help us solve the puzzle by collecting eggs with clues in this exciting scavenger egg hunt.
Meet in the Day Use Area at 3:00 p.m.

–Keeper of the Forest
1:00 – 5:00 p.m. – March 17
Forest Stewardship Class that includes:
–Compass/Pacing
–Tree Management
–Mapping
–Tree ID
Meet at the Volleyball Field in Cooks Ferry from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Kid Friendly.

–Eggstravaganza GeoChallenge
2:00 – 4:00 p.m. – March 24
Way points are set and the eggs are hidden. Rangers will give an intro to GPS and the hunt will be under way.
GPS Units will be provided, but are limited.

–Birds 101
10:00 – 11:00 a.m. – March 31
Join a Ranger for a workshop all about Birds! Meet at the Day Use Area at 10:00 a.m.
Event will last about one hour.  Kid Friendly.

Located northeast of Fairfield, Fairfield Lake State Park is set along the shoreline of a 2,400-acre lake.

Entrance fees are $4 for adults per day.  Children 12 and under admitted free of charge.  (Normal entry fees apply for all events)
