Despite the cold and wet, the 6th annual “War on Hogs” event in Wortham was marked a success.
Sponsored by Wortham Police Department’s “War on Drugs,” the event weighed in 97 animals for a Total of 11,583 pounds of hogs.
The following is the list of winners for each of the events:
–Horseshoe and Washer Tournament winners – Justin Grimes and Ryan Cambell
–BBQ Cook-off Grand Champion – Team Oreo
–BBQ Cook-off Reserve Champs – Team Meat Sweats
–Hog Hunt dog Division – 1st place Team – “Fake it til we make it”
–Hog Hunt Dog Division – 2nd Place Team – “Navarro County Pork Poppers”
–Hog Hunt Dog Division – 3rd Place Team – “51 Hoggers”
–Biggest Boar and Sow Dog Division Team – “Fake it til we make it”
–Longest Stringer Dog Division Team – “Navarro County Pork Poppers
–Hog Hunt Conventional Division – 1st Place Team – “JS”
–Hog Hunt Conventional Division – 2nd Place Team “Pork Princesses”
–Hog Hunt Conventional Division – 3rd Place Team – “Bar C”
Additionally, Team “JS” won Biggest Boar, Team “Rocky Branch Sweet Potatoes” Won Biggest Sow and Longest Stringer.
