Avery Aultman, a firefighting volunteer from Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department, was one of nearly
3,000 Texas firemen this year to graduate from the 86th Annual Municipal Fire School held July 23-28, 2017 at the Brayton Fire Training Field on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station.
Representing firefighting personnel from more than 750 cities in 25 states, the annual school educates firemen on a variety of subjects, including specialized fire suppression and rescue techniques, emergency dispatching, officer training, fire investigations and more.
Freestone County Farm Bureau and Texas Farm Bureau Insurance companies sponsor a fireman from a local fire department each year. More than 125 county Farm Bureaus statewide have sent firemen to the school.
“It is our hope in sponsoring this program that the firemen will help the Fairfield Volunteer Department better serve the residents of Freestone County,” said Texas Farm Bureau President Russell Boening.
