Leonard Edd Teetz died peacefully on December 24, 2017 in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 71.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Julia Sue of Fairfield; daughter Chifawn and husband Jerry Johnson of Fairfield, daughter Camille and husband Jason Taylor of Frisco, son Leonard Chad Teetz and wife Mistie of Palestine, brother Steve Haney and wife Renee of Crossroads, and sister Linda Lamb of Athens.
Grandchildren: Brady and Elizabeth Johnson, Brooke Johnson, Julia Taylor, Justin Taylor, Carter Petzold, Chloe Petzold and great grandson, Jacob Johnson.
Leonard is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Edd and Marjorie Teetz, formally of Crossroads.
Leonard was born on December 10, 1946 in Corsicana, Texas, to Willie Edd and Marjorie Teetz.
He graduated from Malakoff High School in 1965. He married Julia Sue Trammell, his high school sweetheart, on September 13, 1965.
After moving to Aberdeen, Maryland, to begin his military service, Leonard was deployed to Korea.
Upon return to the states, they settled in Fort Hood until 1969 when he was honorably discharged from the Army. Leonard spent the next 25 plus years working for various power companies, in Copperas Cove, Mount Pleasant, and finally Jewett, where he retired from Houston Power and Light in 2002.
Leonard enjoyed woodworking and building beautiful things for family and friends. He was always able to fix just about anything that you might need. Leonard loved square dancing, traveling and listening to Elvis. Leonard was a member of First Baptist Church of Fairfield, a devout Christian and dedicated his life to serving the Lord.
A visitation was held December 27, 2017, at Griffin Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield.
The funeral was December 28, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Fairfield. Pastor Ken Pruitt officiated the service.
