The West waste water treatment plant will have a generator installed following the appropriation of funds at the Teague City Council meeting Monday, December 18th.
Aldermen voted to amend the 2017-2018 budget to use $80,800 of fund reserve monies for the needed generator.
The January and February 2018 Council meetings will be moved to the third Tuesday of the month. March through December’s meetings will continue to be held on the third Monday of each month.
Due to financial concerns, the Council decided not to approve a request to seek bids for the installation of a fire alarm system at the city-owned Texas Workforce Solutions/Community Center buildings on Main Street.
According to City Administrator Theresa Prasil, “Their [Aldermen] concerns are focused on all additional funds being spent on infrastructure improvements and repairs.”
Following executive session, it was announced that Teague Ventures, LLC had defaulted on the reporting requirements outlined in the 380 Agreement made between the city and the company in 2016.
To correct the issue, the company will receive a notice of default and the opportunity to remedy the matter as detailed in the agreement.
The Teague City Council will hold their next meeting on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.
