Votes from taxing entities have been tallied, and the Board of Directors for the Freestone Central Appraisal District remains unchanged for the 2018-2019 term, announces Chief Appraiser Bud Black.
Returning to their posts will be Teresa Duke, Craig Dunlap, O. B. “Brownie” Utley III, Sid Fryer, and Lovie Whyte. In addition, Freestone County Tax Assessor/Collector Lisa Foree will continue to serve on the board in an “ex officio” (non-voting) capacity, as required by state law.
The election process begins in September of odd numbered years with each of the taxing authorities (county, cities, and schools) in the district making nominations for the five positions on the board.
Once the nomination period has expired, the Chief Appraiser prepares a ballot for each of the taxing jurisdictions, which then cast votes by December 15.
