The Teague Lions scored 40 points in the first half and held off the Whitney Wildcats 46-28 in Teague on Friday night.
Tayvis Coleman scored four touchdowns and had 189 yards rushing on the night and the defense had a couple of stands to keep pace in the district race.
West defeated Groesbeck 21-19 to match the win for the Malakoff Tigers and both are 4-0 in district play.
Teague is in a solid third with a 3-1 record and still have Malakoff and Groesbeck on their schedule with the only blemish being the loss to the West Trojans.
Whitney and Groesbeck are both 2-2 and figure greatly in the potential outcome of the district race.
Teague travels to Groesbeck on Friday to take on the Goats in a pivotal District 9-3A Division I battle.
The district race should start taking shape with the playoff teams rising to the top.
