If you are looking for a fun weekend, the Palestine Civic Center is the place to be.  The Palestine Dogwood Jamboree will present “Essential Country” on Saturday evening June 17th.    The show in June will feature  “The Cooke Brothers”  from Waxahachie, Texas.

They have performed all over the country and we are fortunate to have them here in Palestine for this one night performance,”  said Dan Manuel producer of the Jamboree.

They are well known throughout the state of Texas having performed on many venues. Make a special effort to be a part of those in attendance for this wonderful performance. Come to the show, have a seat, relax, and lose yourself in an unforgettable evening of great music and comedy.

It’s timeless entertainment for the whole family. Also making his debut that night will be comedian, “Jus C. Leroy” “Leroy” has performed all over the country and is well known for his antics. “Leroy will leave you laughing and wondering what he’s up to next” Manuel said.   Don’t miss this great comedian.

Others who will be performing that night are: “The Fuller Sisters” Joe Hancock, Sissy Perry, Neil Hall, Mike Kellogg, Rodney Ray, Tammy Bostick, George Lester and Manuel.    Three young artists (who will be selected in preliminary competition) will compete for the Dogwood Jamboree Talent Search for June and the winner will advance to the finals on Dec. 2nd of this year.

“These young people along with others are talented and we are happy to have them on the show,” said Manuel.  A number of young people auditioned for the show last year and the judges selected those with the highest score to perform on the 2016 venues.   Other young people who have performed on the stage of the Jamboree have advanced to bigger venues.
