Owens Corning Insulating Systems LLC (Owens Corning) has partnered with Navarro College to provide job training using a $494,581 Skills Development Fund grant from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The grant will benefit workers in the North Central Texas area.

This grant will be used to provide customized training to 278 incumbent workers for industry-related topics with focused instruction on manufacturing skills. Trainees will include electricians, machine operators, mechanics and packing attendants. Upon completion of training, the workers will receive an average wage of $25.11.

TWC Commissioner Representing Labor Julian Alvarez will present a check to representatives from Owens Corning and Navarro College at a 10 a.m. ceremony to be held at the Navarro College – Waxahachie Campus, Building C, Room 144, 1900 John Arden Drive in Waxahachie.
