With less than six weeks before the County Fair, it’s time to get ready for the 2017 Home and Garden Show.
A couple of changes in this year’s Home and Garden Show include a lowered entry fee of $3.00; the addition of demonstration areas and educational displays; as well as the new Ag Mechanics Show ($20 entry fee).
Divisions in the Home and Garden Show include Sewing, Quilts, Needlework & Crafts, Food Preservations, Baked Goods, Photography, Art, Horticulture, and Agriculture Mechanics.
The show is open to all residents of Freestone County; and entries must be checked on Monday, June 12th between 7:00 a.m. and Noon at the Fairfield Civic Center. The $3 entry fee is due at time of check in.
Judging will be done by age categories to include: Kiddie Corner (4-7 year olds), Junior Youth (8-12 year olds), Senior Youth (13-18 year olds), Adults (19-64 year olds), and Senior Citizens (65 years or older).
Volunteers are needed throughout the week to sit in the Civic Center as fairgoers browse through entries.
