Wortham Police Department is having a “War on Hogs” Hunt and BBQ Cook-off the weekend of February 17-19, 2017 to benefit the Wortham PD Reserves War on Drugs.

The 5th Annual Hog Hunt will have two divisions. They are as follows: Dog Hunt Division – Maximum four-man team with an entry fee of $300 and Conventional Hunting Division – Maximum two-man team with an entry fee of $100. Many Door Prizes will be given out as well.

All Divisions will have a $50 side pot for Biggest Boar and $50 side pot for Biggest Sow.

Pay out: First, Second, and Third Place. Buckles will be given to First Place Teams, Bonus to Team with Most Hogs Weighted.

Hunting begins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17th.
The BBQ Cook-off will be held at the New Wortham City Park.
Entry fee is $200 and includes one entry into the following categories: Brisket, Pork Ribs, Chicken, and Cooks Choice.

Jackpots are $25 each and include Beans, Chili, and/or Dessert.

Buckles will be awarded to Grand Champion. Trophies will go to Reserve, First, Second, and Third places.
Friday night will feature Horseshoe and Washer Tournaments. Entry is $30 per tournament; and First Place winners will receive a buckle.

Saturday night includes a 42 Tournament with an entry fee of $30 which benefits Clark Pace Scholarship Fund.
There will also be an Antique Tractor Show, Fire and EMS Vehicle Show; and a dance at 8:00 pm. with a $10 entry and features live performances from Justin Chapman, Lanky Moore, and Kyle Lane.
