ALWAYS…Patsy Cline, one of the most produced musicals in America, has enjoyed great success both nationally and internationally. Created by Ted Swindley, the show is based on the true story of the legendary Patsy Cline (Joyce Nichols) and her friendship with Houston housewife Louise Seger. The relationship, which began as fan worship, evolved into one of long-lasting mutual respect.
Louise, portrayed by Rachel Bossier, narrates the story from the day in 1961 when she meets Patsy at the Esquire Ballroom in Houston, Texas. From that time, Patsy keeps in touch with her number-one fan through long, hand-written letters until her untimely death in a 1963 plane crash. The show’s title was inspired by the closing in Cline’s letters, signed “ALWAYS…Patsy Cline.”
Complete with down home country wit and emotion, the musical play features over two dozen songs, including many of Patsy’s timeless hits such as CRAZY, I FALL TO PIECES, SWEET DREAMS, and WALKING AFTER MIDNIGHT. Musical Director and bassist Jeff Harrison leads a band of amazingly talented local musicians including keyboardist Daron Stone, percussionist Samuel Bounds, fiddler Marlis Coursey and guitarist Steve Partain. Also appearing will be backup vocalists Scott Bossier, John Lamb and Larry Weber, all of whom have made several appearances in Palestine’s Texas Theater.
