Iigurubando Con, pronounced E-goo-roo-bawn-doe, is a one-day fundraising event in Fairfield, Texas. All proceeds from the Con will be used toward providing transportation for the Fairfield Grand Band from Eagle Land on their trip to Walt Disney World for a marching contest.
Featured are artists, writers, video games and Cosplayers and everything “Geek.”
Comic book writer / publisher, David Doub of Dusk Comics, will be returning to Iigurubando Con this year. Also making a return appearance is artist, Web comic writer and YouTuber, Eliamaria Crawford of Elia in a Box.
Cosplayer, Dallis Gregory of Coat of Arms Cosplay will conduct a panel to give tips on cosplaying.
Former Grand Band member, Tori Martin, will also be there to discuss how she got through film school and secured a job working for Funimation.
Also featured are Funimation Voice Actor, director, and script writer, Clifford Chapin, as well as Funimation social media co-ordinator, Godswill Ugwa.
To top it all off, Shouff! Studios will be there to do a “Sketch Dojo” with guests.
There may also be an appearance from the DFW area 501st Legion. Confirmation will be received one week prior to the event.
This year, there will be two cosplay contests. One will feature Star Wars cosplay and the other will be a general cosplay.
Iigurubando Con will be set up like a big “Con,” but with a nice Hometown feel. The Con will run from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017. Doors will open at 10:00 a.m.
Event will be held at the Fairfield Jr. High Band Hall.
