Remember that spices should not only create a great flavor, but aide in ailments and be used medicinally as needed.

Turmeric:

Turmeric is a super spice found in curry.  You can find turmeric in a powder or fresh turmeric root.   The powerful ingredient in turmeric is curcumin.  We like to juice turmeric to add that punch of benefits to your juice.  We also us in soup or sprinkle on anything.  Turmeric is one of the most frequently mentioned medicinal herbs.  Turmeric prevents blood clotting, an antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, helps with ulcerative colitis, great for arthritis, helps with cancer treatments, helps manage diabetes, aids in digestion, regulates cholesterol, a natural pain killer, and a natural steroid that helps with psoriasis, lupus, chronic pain, and scleroderma.  In addition to everything above, the curcumin in turmeric helps with acne, asthma, cataracts, delayed wound healing, glaucoma, high blood pressure, insomnia, kidney issues, thyroid issues, mood problems, muscle weakness, nausea, infections, stunted growth in children, and even easy bruising.  Get some turmeric and juice it, take as pills, or use it as much as possible when you cook.

Turmeric Ginger Tea: Either juice the ginger and turmeric and add to hot water or boil the turmeric and ginger and drink the water.  If you do not have access to fresh turmeric, add some powder to ginger tea.

Rosemary:

Rosemary is one of those herbs that can be easily grown at home.  This is a hearty plant that can withstand a lot.   Not only does it smell good but it is beneficial for you.  If you need a boost for your immune system, this is a go to herb to use.   Many people add to their tea or use to add flavor to dishes that are gamey like lamb and even salmon.   Rosemary builds immune system, by preventing colds and reducing long term risks of cancer and other debilitating diseases.   Rosemary helps circulation and helps you have a healthy heart.  It also helps with stomach and digestion problems.

Rosemary Salmon:  Pick some rosemary, season salmon, add rosemary to the top and bottom of salmon, wrap in foil, and put in the oven until your liking.   Pair with mixed veggies or rice.
