The Gift of Education
“Perry [Henderson] has made this transition much more doable,” explains Tony Price, Executive Assistant of the Fairfield Hospital District Board. “We appreciate all of his help during our 18-year partnership with ETMC.”
As a parting gift from ETMC, Henderson, who serves as Senior VP of ETMC Regional Health, opened up the Pittsburg, Texas warehouse to Linda Davis, Director of Navarro College Career & Technical Center at Fairfield to help equip the school’s new nursing lab.
“He opened the door and said, ‘Choose whatever you need or want,’ So we did,” exclaims Mrs. Davis.
In addition to several pieces of much needed medical equipment, other items donated include a refrigerator and table with chairs for the break room, an instructor’s desk for one of the classrooms, and other miscellaneous items.
The Fairfield campus has been open for about three years now, offering Welding and Industrial Technology courses. It is now gearing up to offer a CNA Nursing Program and a Police Academy beginning in January of 2017.
“I see a lot of good things coming to our community,” concludes Mrs. Davis. “We couldn’t have done it without the help and generous donation from ETMC!”
The Fairfield campus is located at 961 East Commerce Street in Fairfield (at the intersection of Hwy 84 and Post Oak); and can be reached by calling 903-389-7983.
