Teague High School Theatre Department has postponed the performance of their musical GREASE to the month of January.
GREASE will be performed at the Teague High School auditorium on Friday, January 6th at 7:00 p.m.  Additional showings will be held Saturday, January 7th at 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, January 8th at 3:00 p.m.
GREASE is a 1971 musical by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey with additional songs written by John Farrar.  Named after the 1950’s U.S. working-class youth subculture known as greasers, the musical is set in 1959 at fictional Rydell High School (based on William Howard Taft School in Chicago, Illinois) and follows ten working-class teenagers as they navigate the complexities of peer pressure, politics, personal core values and love.
The score attempts to recreate the sound of early rock and roll.  In 1978, John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John starred in the hit movie of the same name.  GREASE has become a classic with tow iconic clubs, the Pink Ladies and the T Birds.
The Theater High School Department is working hard several evenings a week plus weekends to make this a show you will enjoy right here in your hometown.  The Facebook page prompt for Teague Theatre is www.facebook.com/teaguetheatre.
Reserved seating will be available shortly after Christmas.  Tickets will be $10 each.  Watch for more details to be announced.
