The adult and children choirs of Fairfield’s Calvary Baptist Church will be presenting a musical arrangement for all age groups as they perform ‘A Family Christmas’ this coming Sunday evening at 6:30 pm.
The arrangement will include familiar Christmas carols throughout the program with a variety of musical styles. Three songs, ‘For Unto Us’, ‘Call His Name Jesus’ and ‘Great Joy’ will feature the ensemble group of Shelby Race, LaDonna Mullen, Teresa Black, Sabrina Barrett and Devin DiGuillio.
Layla Barrett and her mother Sabrina Barrett will perform a duet titled ‘One Holy Night’ with support from the children’s choir. Sabrina will perform the solo song ‘No Room’ with support from the adult choir. The children’s choir of Calvary will be featured during the performance of ‘Creature Praise’.
A special acapella arrangement of ‘Rise Up, Shepherd, and Follow’ will be performed by the adult choir and is certain to be a favorite of the night. Other songs to be featured by the adult choir will be ‘Angels from the Realms of Glory’, ‘Angels We Have Heard on High’, ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’, ‘Children Go Where I Send Thee’, ‘Go Tell It On The Mountain’, ‘Joy To The World’, ‘Hark! The Herald Angels Sing’ and ‘The First Noel.’
During the candlelight service of the evening, the choirs will perform ‘Light A Candle’, ‘Silent Night’ and ‘Away In A Manger.’
The musical presentation will be under the direction of Calvary’s music and education minister Shelby Race. Calvary is located at 220 E. Main, behind the US Post Office in Fairfield.
