Texas Farm Credit’s new Fairfield office opened for business on Oct. 24.
The newly constructed 3,000-square-foot free-standing building is located on the west side of IH-45, directly across the Interstate from Sam’s Restaurant, at 435 W. IH-45.
The rural lending cooperative’s decision to build was driven by the desire to better serve its customers with a more convenient and central location and to support its growing customer base in this area.
Texas Farm Credit worked closely with East Texas architect Laura Culpepper to develop the building’s energy-efficient design and give a nod to its Texas roots — combining the rustic charm of a country lodge and a century-old farmhouse.
The co-op’s Fairfield office has long served the local rural community, which includes Freestone, Houston, Leon and Limestone counties.
“We are proud to be a part of this community,” said Danny Wren, branch manager in the Texas Farm Credit Fairfield branch office. “And we are so thankful to all the local people and businesses involved in the building’s construction.”
The general contractor on the site was Don McLeod of McLeod Construction, who is also a Texas Farm Credit member. Local subcontractors included:
–Elmer Ballard, Ballard Company – air conditioning
–Fred Carter, Fred Carter Contracting – head carpenter
–Tommy Glick, Glick Excavation
–Grant Holmes, Holmes Landscaping
–Justin Manahan – cabinetry, desks and furniture
–Dennis Martin, Teague Flooring
–Brian Moore, Moore Plumbing
–Francisco Sandoval, FJS Masonry
–Clint Sutton, Sutton & Sutton Paint Contracting
