Early voting continues through this Friday, November 4, 2016 each day from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Fairfield Conference Center, located at 839 E. Commerce Street in Fairfield, Texas.
According to Dianne Manning, Freestone County’s Election Clerk, over 3,000 early votes have been logged as of Monday. “It has been a big turnout,” she says.
Although there have been nationwide reports of votes being changed after a voter selects a straight ticket, according to Manning, potential problems may be avoided during the review process.
“What some people don’t understand is that the machines are calibrated,” says Manning. There may be instances where the machine’s sensitivity might recognize a selection which the voter does not intend.
ALWAYS review your ballot to ensure the correct candidates have been selected, before casting your ballot.
Next Tuesday, November 8th is Election Day. Poll locations will be open from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
