“We are a small organization, but we are up to the task of helping out our community,” says Officer Sean Frasier, President of the Fairfield Police Association; which was selected as Fairfield Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Month for August 2016.
Fairfield Police Association was established in July 2014 as a non-profit organization as a way to get officers out into the community in hopes to prove that officers are part of the community and not just enforcers of the law.
Their mission is to promote a better relationship between officers of Fairfield Police Department and citizens of the City of Fairfield.
They also work hand in hand with the City of Fairfield and Fairfield Police Department from the inside to help make the department better for the employees that will in turn, benefit the residents.
Initially proposed by Officers Sean Frasier and Albert Gallegos, Jr., the association is now comprised of Fairfield Police Department Officers and FPD Dispatchers. Citizens are welcome to join the association as well. To do so, please contact any member.
Current members are President – Sean Frasier, Vice President – Albert Gallegos, Jr., Secretary/Treasurer – Sergio Palacios, Sergeant of Arms – Harold Markham, Brody Weinmann, David Utsey, Weldon Alexander, Sharon Williams, Angie Cochran, and Amber Brock.
The association, as a member of the chamber, works closely with them in support of community events such as the Show of Wheels and Square Affair.
They also put on 5K Run/Walks to help raise funds for holiday events: and has held a Blue Santa event the past two years.
The Blue Santa will run again this year. Anyone wishing to provide new, unwrapped toys can make donations at Fairfield City Hall.
Also in the works are another 5K Run/Walk, A Golf Tournament in early 2017, and a National Night Out to take place on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Funds are raised by member dues, direct donations to the association, and with their calendar sales. These funds are used to assist with financial aspects of promoting community events, and for the purchase of tools and equipment that will help officers and dispatchers do their jobs more efficiently to the betterment of the community.
Funds are also used to help sponsor other community organizations such as the Fairfield Eagles, as well as to help individuals with personal needs.
Fairfield Police Association is proud to be a member of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce and is always looking for ways to get out and support the community. They welcome any ideas from the public.
“With the country’s current state of Police/Community interactions, we all need to come together to work on making relations between us all better again,” says Officer Frasier. “The Association is here for our citizens, so please let us know what we can do for you. Stay safe; and God bless!”
