The 88th Annual Teague 4th of July UPRA-Open Rodeo will kick off next week with a patriotic Rodeo Parade beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017.
Those entering the parade must be in line by 5:30 p.m. at the West end of Main Street in Teague.
The 3-day rodeo event is being held from June 28 – July 1, 2016. Performance will start at 8:00 p.m. each night.
This year’s event includes $10,750 added money.

Fees are as follows:
–Bareback Riding $80
–Saddle Bronc $80
–Calf Roping $100
–Bull Riding $80
–Barrel Racing $60 fees, Jackpotted Nightly
–Ladies Breakaway $80
–Team Roping $120 per man
Wild Cow Milking is Open To The World. Fees are $100 with $2,000 added money.
$500 Bonus to Fastest on Two Loops.
Additional fees are:
–Junior Barrel Racing ($35) 14 & Under as of January 1st, 2017
–Junior Ribbon Roping ($35). Must be In-County Roper & Runner and 12 & Under as of 1-1-17
–Senior Ribbon Roping ($60) Jackpotted Nightly, In-County ONLY
On 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night roping slack, team roping, tiedown and breakaway. Saturday slack barrel racing only.
There will be $1,250 added money to each UPRA event.
Gist Buckles given to winners in each event.
There will also be a David Barnes handmade Saddle Raffle available. Winner will be drawn on Saturday night.
Negative Coggins required. Event produced by Champion Rodeo Company, Bob Champion.
Calf roping will be the last event in slack each night. Contestants competing in the slack must be paid up before the first calf is run in the slack each night.
Ribbon roping contestants must live in Freestone County or attend school in Freestone County.
Trailer hook-ups available from the City of Teague for $20 per night.
Jackpot Calf Roping
Jackpot Calf Roping will be held at the Teague City Arena on Saturday, July 1st at 8:00 a.m.
Enter during rodeo event Call In or until 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning. First to enter, last to rope.
Open Ladies Breakaway 2 and short for $250 with $500 added money.
Open Tiedown, 2 & short for $350 with $1,000 added money.
Fifth Annual 4-D Jackpot Barrel Race
Cathey Productions is hosting the Teague 4th of July 4D Barrel Race on Friday, June 30th at the Teague City Arena.
Exhibitions will be held 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. with $5 pay at the gate.
Open 4D ($40) – 1/2, 1/2, 1 second splits. Youth 3D, 18 and under, will start at 11:30 a.m., 1/2 & 1 second split.
A $10 office fee per rider is required.
