Events in Freestone County begin to wrap up as you start your countdown to Christmas. Here are some last-minute events to keep you in the Holiday Spirit!

Nightly thru Christmas

Lighting of the Teague City Park may be viewed from Dusk until about Midnight each night. Drive by to see the lights at Teague 8th Ave City Park, of pull in and take a walk around the grounds.

 

Lovey Local at Brenda’s Closet
Thursday, December 19th

Cocoa, Gifts, & Elf Twists with Lovey Local Christmas Elf at Brenda’s Closet from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Sponsored by Fairfield Chamber of Commerce. Last chance to get your photo of Lovey to enter the special holiday contest! Brenda’s Closet is located on the West side of the Courthouse Square in Fairfield.

 

Teague Flea Market
Weekend of December 20-22

Last minute holiday shopping at Teague Flea Market, Friday thru Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The market is located at 849 E. Hwy. 84 in Teague.

 

Story Time with Santa Claus
Friday, December 20th

Special Story Time at Fairfield Library with Santa Claus beginning at 5:30 p.m. Bring the children and enjoy cookies, cocoa and photos with Santa. The Library is located at 350 W. Main Street.

 

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party
Friday, December 20th

Members of the community, 21-years-old and up, are invited to an Ugly Christmas Sweater, All White, & Christmas PJ’s Party on Friday, from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. at Tuscan Flair, located at 426 W. US Hwy 84 in Fairfield.

Hosted by David Brackens, Jr., Isaac McElroy, and Jonny Smith, this event will feature music, games, B.Y.O.B., and an Ugly Sweater Contest with a ton of great prizes.

This is a FREE event. Don’t miss out on the adult fun!

 

Jingle All the Way & ‘Home for the Holidays’ Parade
Saturday, December 21st

Jingle All the Way on the square in Fairfield from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m. Santa, Pony Carousel, Snow Slide, Balloon Artist, Local Vendors, Festive Food, Wagon Rides, Live Carols, Crafts & much more!

This year will include the Parade, Christmas story reading and Nativity drama that was rescheduled the first weekend in December due to the rainy weather.

Here is the schedule of events:

12:00 p.m. – Parade lineup at Elementary School
12:30 p.m. – Christmas Story by Bettye Trask
12:45 p.m. – ‘Home for the Holidays’ Parade
TBA – River of Life Petting Zoo
1:30 – 4:00 p.m. – Visit with Santa
1:15 p.m. – Community Entertainment
3:45 p.m. – Christmas Tree Lighting
6:00 p.m. – River of Life Christmas Drama

“Polar Express Wonderland”
at Trinity Star Art Gallery in Fairfield
Thursday, December 5th

A second showing of the ‘Polar Express Wonderland’ exhibition will open at Trinity Star Art Gallery on Saturday, December 21, 2024 to coincide with Fairfield’s ‘Jingle All The Way’ on the courthouse square.

The exhibition includes miniature electric trains, antique toys, a Christmas village, plus Christmas artwork created by students of Pleasant Hills Children’s Home.

Refreshments will be served, and children will receive gingerbread cookies.

The TSAC gallery is located on the square in Fairfield at 115 South Mount Street.

 

Christmas at Stewards Mill
Saturday, December 21st

Stewards Mill Christmas program begins at 6:00 p.m. Bring finger food and celebrate the season the old-fashioned way. The church is located at the Corner of CR 2547 and FM 833 in Fairfield.

 

Say Goodbye to Lovey the Elf
Monday, December 23rd

Magical Town Tree – North Pole Drive-By Send-Off from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. at the Freestone County Courthouse Square. Drive by, honk, & wave goodbye to the Lovey Local Christmas Elf. Sponsored by Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.

 

Family Movie Night at FBC Fairfield
Monday, December 23rd

First Baptist Church of Fairfield invites the community to join them on Monday evening, December 23, 2024, for Family Movie Night. From 6:00-8:00 p.m., in the Christian Life Center, they will be showing the 2018 version of ‘The Grinch.’ Wear your pajamas or something comfy, bring chairs or blankets to sit on, and enjoy the show. Hot cocoa will be provided.

A Candlelight Christmas Eve Service
Tuesday, December 24th

The First Baptist Church of Donie invites the community of Donie and surrounding communities to join them for a Candlelight Christmas Eve Service, beginning at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, December 24th, Christmas Eve.

There will be music, children’s time, the singing of Christmas carols, and the reading of the Christmas story. It all culminates with a Candlelight Service.
