Thomas Edward Childs Medford, 34, passed away in Fairfield on Sunday, July 18, 2021.
Tom was born on November 26, 1986, in The Woodlands to Julie Ann and Rick Medford. He graduated Fairfield High School in 2005.
He earned the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.
He earned a bachelors of business administration in MIS from Baylor University and a bachelors of science in biology from Sam Houston State University. A natural helper, he was planning to begin medical school this fall.
Tom was a loving son, a protective little brother, a fun uncle, and a loyal friend.
He enjoyed traveling, playing the piano, working at the family ranch in Leon County, a good conversation with friends, working the sound board at church, volunteering for the local food bank, a really great joke, and his dogs Rosie and Bach.
He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Prather Medford, paternal grandparents Mattie Bea Prather and Isom Eugene “Gene” Medford and maternal grandparents Sylvia Bastin and Clifton Edward Childs.
He is survived by his mother, Julie Ann Childs Medford, one sister, Kathleen Medford Burrell and husband Eric, and two nieces, Harper Ann Burrell and Elizabeth Prather Burrell.
Visitation will be 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Saturday, July 24, 2021 at First United Methodist Church with funeral service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.
