Independence Day is this Friday and Freestone County has several events to help you celebrate with your family!

 

THURS., JUL 3RD

The Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show will be held at the W. L. Moody Reunion Fairgrounds beginning at 7:00 p.m.

This year will feature food trucks, local vendors, family fun, and a fireworks show which starts at dark.

When the show begins, tune your radio into KNES Texas 99.1 FM for patriotic music to enhance your viewing pleasure.

 

JULY 3RD-5TH

95th Annual Teague Fourth of July Rodeo with 7:00 p.m. Mutton Bustin and 8:00 p.m. nightly performances. Adults get in for $10 each,

Kids enter for $5. Tickets can be picked up at 3W, DejaVu, Citizens State Bank, and Freestone Credit Union in Teague.

Parade is on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. with the Chamber of Commerce selling burgers beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Plates include burger, fixings, chips, and bottled water. Sodas available for extra cost.

Mutton Bustin at 7:00 p.m. nightly.

 

FRI., JULY 4TH

 

–Fourth on Main Parade in downtown Wortham beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Register (FREE) by July 2nd at City Hall or Farmers State Bank in Wortham.

Hotdogs, Snow Cones, and Water Slides following the parade.

 

–The 28th Annual Streetman Lawnmower Parade & Celebration, in memory of Tommy J Bryant, will begin at 10:30-ish a.m. with line up starting at 10:00 a.m. at the corner of Main Street and Hwy 80.

Weather permitting, the parade route will be extended to pass by as many spectators’ homes as possible, for those who would prefer to watch the parade from their own yards.

After the parade, enjoy a FREE lunch at the Fire Station, rain or shine. Hot dogs, chips, drinks, snow cones, and more will be available.

 

–The First Baptist Church of Donie will sponsor a Fourth of July Community Picnic and Celebration on Friday, July 4, 2025. The celebration will take place from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm.

There will be a cookout, waterslides for the kids, games and music. The public is invited to bring their lawn chairs and join us as we celebrate our nation’s birthday.
