Cornerstone Community Cook-off features county’s best BBQ teams…
More than six hundred people were treated to a free barbeque lunch following the 3rd Annual Cornerstone Community Cook-off, hosted by Cornerstone Full Gospel Church of Fairfield, on Saturday, August 27, 2016.
Eleven teams participated in the cook-off and competed for the title in Cook’s Choice, Chicken, Ribs, and Brisket categories.
This year’s winners are:
ABOVE–Best Overall: 1st – Brotherly Love (LaCharles & Kenneth Bass), 2nd – Smokin’ Hot (Jason Williams, Jerry Bonds, and Dan Ralstin), and 3rd – Grill Girls (Micah Thurman, Briana Thurman, Samayah Williams, and Rhett Ralstin).
–Cook’s Choice: Magnificent Trio (Big Foot, Marcus Reagor, and Ernest Hammond).
–Chicken: 1st – Brotherly Love, 2nd – Grill Girls, and 3rd – Blue Dogs (LaQuita and Montrell Lewis).
–Ribs: 1st – Real Pit Chicks (Kawona Thurman, Kaywona Wiley, and Velma Potillo), 2nd – Grill Girls, and 3rd – Gunslingers (William High, Jonathan High, Jarrien High, and Darrell Jones).
–Brisket: 1st – Brotherly Love, 2nd – Smokin’ Hot, and 3rd – Magnificent Trio.
All meats cooked in the competition were used for the free barbeque lunch with all the fixings, dessert, and a drink.
